FAQ
Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about our holiday rentals — Le Pouffre, our 19th-century fisherman’s house, and Le Piade, our bright, cosy apartment in Sète. We’re delighted to welcome you!
Arrival and times
At what time can we check in?
Check-in is from 3 p.m., but we can often welcome you earlier. We’ll contact you the day before your arrival by SMS or WhatsApp to confirm the exact time your accommodation will be ready.
How do we get the keys?
We usually welcome you in person. We’ll contact you the day before your arrival to arrange a meeting time. If you’re unsure of your arrival time or arriving after 8 p.m., don’t worry, we have a key box so you can check in easily.
What time is check-out?
Check-out is generally before 11 a.m. Please send us a quick SMS or WhatsApp message at +33 769 839 081 the day before your departure so we can arrange to collect the keys and say goodbye.
Parking
Where can we park?
We’ll guide you on arrival to the best nearby free parking options. Both properties are in the centre of Sète where parking is still free.
- Le Pouffre: Around the house, on Place de l’Hospitalet (free parking 50 m away), at the Paul Valéry Museum car park and along Chemin du Cimetière Marin at the end of Grande Rue Haute.
- Le Piade: There’s usually parking around the residence. If you arrive late, try Rue des Héliotropes (the road parallel to the residence) or the large free car park on Place de la République (except Sunday mornings during the flea market).
Convenient option (but you shouldn’t need to): Parking Les Halles 3-day package.
Rates and payment
How much do the rentals cost per night?
For the best rates, book directly on our website:
- October–March: €93 + tourist tax)
- April–June & September: €98 + tourist tax
- July–August: €123 + tourist tax
How can we pay?
A 50% deposit is requested at booking to secure your holiday, payable by French cheque, bank card or PayPal. The balance is due 14 days before arrival (you’ll receive a reminder email). For bookings made less than 14 days before arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking by bank card or PayPal.
Is online payment secure?
Yes. Payments are processed securely through encrypted Stripe or PayPal systems on our website. No card data are stored.
Are there any on-site charges?
Your entire holiday, including the tourist tax, is prepaid before you arrivve. However, a €100 security deposit is required on arrival to cover potential damages. This is fully refundable upon departure, subject to a satisfactory inspection.
Cancellation and rules
Can we cancel free of charge?
You can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before arrival. If you cancel within 30 days of arrival or do not show up, the total booking amount will be charged.
Are the properties non-smoking?
Yes, entirely non-smoking.
Can we bring pets?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our properties.
Amenities and comfort
How many people can stay?
Each property accommodates up to 4 guests, plus one baby. Le Pouffre also has an extra folding bed.
Are linens and towels provided?
Yes, all linens and towels are provided. Just bring your personal belongings.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, both properties have high-speed fibre Wi-Fi.
Is there a washing machine?
Yes, and we provide a few detergent pods to get you started.
Is baby equipment available?
Yes, we provide a travel cot with mattress and sheet, plus a high chair. You only need to bring your baby’s sleeping bag.
Are the properties accessible for guests with reduced mobility?
- Le Pouffre: Not accessible as there is a spiral staircase to the bedrooms upstairs.
- Le Piade: On one level with walk-in shower and shower seat. There is a lift to the apartment, however, there are two steps at the residence entrance.
Is there a terrace or balcony?
No, neither property has a terrace or balcony.
Cleaning and incidents
Do we need to clean before leaving?
The property will be clean when you arrive. Cleaning products are provided, but there is no cleaning service. Please leave the property tidy, though a full cleaning is not required.
What if we break something?
We understand that accidents happen. Please inform us as soon as possible if something gets damaged.
Location and services
Can we walk to the town centre?
Yes! Le Pouffre is a 5‑minute walk, and Le Piade about 10 minutes from the town centre, Tourist Office, restaurants and Les Halles indoor market.
Can we walk to the beaches?
Yes, you can walk, or cycle or take the bus. Enjoy the bike path or bus lines 3 and 9 from the centre to Sète’s beaches. The nearest coves — Crique de la Nau and La Vigie — are only a 10‑minute walk from the Théâtre de la Mer.
Is there a grocery store nearby?
Yes. Carrefour Express and Monoprix are on the Cadre Royal. Each property has a welcome booklet listing nearby bakeries and convenience stores.
Is Sète well served by public transport?
Yes. You can buy single bus tickets on board or save money by downloading the Sète Agglopôle Mobilité app or website, where you can purchase weekly passes or 10‑ride tickets.
Can I request an invoice for my company?
Of course.
Classification and guarantees
What are your property ratings?
Both properties have been audited and are officially rated 3‑star “Meublés de Tourisme”, ensuring comfort and quality for your stay. You have nothing to bring except your personal items! Each property has a well‑equipped kitchen, quality bedding and linens, air conditioning and high‑speed fibre Wi‑Fi — all in a warm, welcoming setting.
